City of the writers

I chose to stop in Iowa City, the "city of writers" according to Courtney, Xavier's sister-in-law, rather than stopping in Des Moines, which seemed to present nothing interesting at all with its insurance company buildings. Unfortunately, I've arrived in the low season, summer. And literary activities become rare. For me, this would sooner be the city of sculptures, as seen in this frozen tornado of iron wire serving as a reminder of what struck this city a year and a half ago.

Downtown -- two pedestrian streets -- is essentially taken over by a population of young people younger than 30. This is a typical example of an American city, where the university campus is twice the size of the city itself...
