I walk around after nightfall toward Larimer Street, where Jack and the Beats spent a good part of their feverish nights surveying the bars and getting sloshed late into the early hours. But I get the impression that the bars and restaurants on this street, these days, are very clean and are patronized by customers that seems just as clean.

I go back up 16th Street, the main artery of Denver that is a very commercial street with its stores, cafes, and bars... Denver doesn't differ from other American cities, and at the same time, I feel something impalpable in the air, something that has to do with the West and with the cowboys in my imagination...
