I am meeting up with Amy in "Mission Dolores Park", a verdant plot of land located strategically between The Castro -- the gay district of SF -- and The Mission -- the bohemian district with its ever-active nightlife. There is always something going on in Dolores Park: concerts, gatherings of all sorts, cultural events... There you can find a heterogeneous crowd practicing tai-chi, walking their dogs, hula-hooping, or reading quietly...

This evening, there is a movie being shown outdoors: Karate Kid... While the choice of film puts a smile on my face, Amy lets me know that, in Chicago, there would surely have been a classic black-and-white film. It turns out that the real show is happening right by me with people applauding and cheering the hero on... I've met several people tonight, Nina and Gregory, Deborah, Julio, Tim, Matthew... And to complete the evening, we had a drink or two in one of the bars in The Mission where Deborah confided that this has been a perfect 'San Franciscan' evening...
